Web Tool 2.0 Smackdown of Thinglink

I decided to choose Thinglink as my webtool for my smackdown. I chose Thinglink because I believe it is a very easy to use tool that helps you display an image with tons of embedded links! As an education major I had learned about Thinglink in the past and believe it to be a very fun and interactive way to store all your common links in one amazing place!
Thinglink lets you pick any image and add embedded links to it, so you can then display it with other hidden information in one picture! Thinglink is also known as an interactive image, this means as you hover over the image you can see different links and resources to learn more information. Thinglink lets you add in articles, websites, music, locations, and also other images! In my video I go in depth on how you can add this extra information into your image. What is also great about thinglink is that you can make the icons standout or blend into your image. This is a cool feature because the main idea is to display your interactive image so if you make them blend together you will have your audience focused on your image.

As a future educator I believe I could definitely utilize Thinglink often in the classroom. You can use this to help your students study together by creating study link in an image, or use it for fun and add in fun facts about a lesson! I believe as a teacher you have to make the learning fun for students. If you have a very fun image displayed on the board students are going to want more, and Thinglink definitely helps with that!

I have never heard of Thinglink before, but it seems like a fun way to store and organize your links. I like your idea of using this in the class room for students to study and learn together. As a business major I will probably never use this app in my career, however I am curious to look more into it in my free time.

  13. Jordyn,
This app is really incredible and you did an amazing job showing all the features of it. I have never used Thinglink but it definitely is a tool that I think almost anyone in any profession could use. It's especially interesting because it's easy to get viewers hooked on an image so when they click on it, having links right there is perfect to direct them to other websites.

  14. Hi Jordyn!
I really like this application and what is has to offer. Amazing job presenting the tool! I think this tool would be great for educators and it is a different way of presenting links. The picture is much more appealing to the eye than just a list of links on a slide. I would like to see how I could apply this in the future!

Thinglink is new to me and it looks very interesting! This is a great tool for presentations or lesson planning to attach certain links to point in a picture that relate to each other. This will most definitely grab students’ attention to the lesson. This is a great tool for so many different professions also, like a business presentation. Great job!
